Summary Objective
Compass Care is currently seeking a talented and skilled Lead Caregiver Trainer & Client Care Assessor to join our SWAT Team. The Lead Caregiver Trainer will work directly with clients and CCAs in client homes to assess the clients' needs and to train the CCAs onsite to ensure that 5-star concierge care is being provided. This individual will also work with the Compass Care Team to assist in the training efforts of new hire orientation, client-specific training, continuous training and development, as well as assist in training at Compass Cares CNA school, Compass Care Institute of Caregiving (CCIC). This individual will work as an on-call Administrator on Duty, providing 24/7 assistance for employees and clients, and will act as a caregiver as needed. This full-time, salaried position is a unique opportunity for health care professionals who are seeking growth and advancement within the home health care industry.
Primary Responsibilities:
Train primary caregivers (CCAs) to ensure that CCAs are trained on best practices and client needs. This individual will work directly with CCAs in client homes, as well as in the Corporate Office in Stamford, CT.
Participate as a member of the New Client CCA Swat Team, a team of highly capable, reliable, and personable staff members that can jump right into any new client situation to help us secure the business, ensuring long-term relationships with clients. As a member of the SWAT Team, the Lead Caregiver Trainer will enhance the client onboarding experience and assess the needs and opportunities of the case. The Lead Trainer will lead the transition of the permanently assigned caregiver.
Lead by example and set the Compass Care standard and benchmarks for quality care for any and all clients, as needed and appropriate.
Conduct client home visits for a work condition assessment, identifying problem areas in the homes or work hazards that may cause caregiver dissatisfaction, burnout, or injury while on the job. This information is to be shared with Client Services, detailed within the client story and training key points.
Participate in development and implementation of Client Care Plans and Client Stories as per Compass Care policy and procedure, as appropriate.
Help our clients in numerous activities of daily living: personal care, companionship, light housekeeping, ambulation assistance, meal planning and preparation, and errands.
Ensure quality and safe delivery of home health care services.
Secondary Responsibilities:
Lead/back-up administrator on Compass Cares 24/7 caregiver hotline. Responsibilities include but are not limited to answering the office phone, answering basic questions, routing calls on any issues to the appropriate Compass Care staff member, finding coverage for CCAs in need and acting as caregiver as needed.
Assist in the corporate Stamford office with administrative duties as assigned
Participate in Care Team conference calls according to Compass Care policy and procedure, as appropriate, and update Care Team and office staff with client changes and needs.
Act as a trainer for the CCA orientation program and for ongoing training for existing CCAs. Collaborate with management to identify company/client training needs and schedule training sessions.
Job Requirements:
LPN and/or RN preferred but not required
CNA certification required within 6 months of hire
Minimum 2 years proven experience as a trainer or in a leadership role
Ability to perform a client assessment, and to create and execute a plan of action based on the assessment
Understanding of effective teaching methodologies and tools
Leadership skills
Strong communication, presentation, and public speaking skills
Excellent customer service skills
Attention to detail, proficient follow-through, and organizational skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in MS Office; e-learning software
Schedule flexibility: available to work hourly day, overnight, and live-in shifts
Ability to commute to client residences within service area including CT and NY, as well as to the corporate office in Stamford, CT.
