Kitchen Steward (Food Services)
Responsible for managing the administration and client service operations at Tropicana Student
Living as a direct outreach of College Freshs vision and goals fresh, made from scratch food,
and outstanding customer service.
Deliver superior food and beverage service and maximizing customer satisfaction. Serve as a
liaison between clients and corporate leadership team, communicating with clients and responding
efficiently and accurately to customer complaints.
In conjunction with the facility Chefs, Manager is responsible for overseeing operational
costs/budgets, including food, labor and other major categories, on a weekly basis to ensure
financial goals are met.
Represent College Fresh at weekly client meetings, addressing questions, concerns and
complaints in a timely and efficient manner and communicating issues to corporate office. Ensure
that the entire operation delivers superior service and customer satisfaction.
In collaboration with Employee Resources department, manage job postings and hiring, in person
interviews, performance management, and terminations according to state law/regulations and in
keeping with College Fresh policies and best practices.
Work with the corporate office accounting team to coordinate invoicing details to ensure accurate
and timely distribution of monthly statements, appropriate vendor management and financial
Develop, maintain and post staff schedules for both facilities. Act as point person responsible for
ensuring kitchen operations are uninterrupted in the event of no shows, schedule changes and
Approve/edit payroll on a bi-weekly basis, including time-off requests, punch change requests and
any additional payroll requests or changes.
Ensure compliance with local/state sanitation and safety regulations.
Assist with development of special event menus, planning and staffing to ensure quality standards
and exceptional client experiences are met.

Responsible for the leadership and direction of Chefs assigned to each CafÃ© .
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. This position works primarily daytime hours, Monday through Friday;
however, some evenings and weekends are required.
This job operates in a kitchen environment, housed with equipment such as ovens, stoves,
dishwashers, slicers, coffee machines, steamers, mixers and chefs knives. The employee is
frequently exposed to heat, steam, fire and noise.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an
employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The employee is occasionally required to sit, stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and
pull items weighing 30 pounds or less.
The employee is required to stand for extended periods of time.
The position requires the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
This position requires no travel.
Required Education and Experience:
Associates degree in Communications, Hospitality, Business or a related field.
5 years in a leadership role to demonstrate initiative and independence, with the ability to use
sound, ethical judgment in decision making required.
5 years exceptional customer service experience, with particular attention to both professional
and courteous verbal and written communications.
Preferred education and experience:
Bachelors degree in Communications, Hospitality, Business or a related field.
Experience working in restaurant, hotel or other food service establishment. Additional Eligibility Requirements:
Must be able to obtain and maintain all applicable licenses and certifications (e.g. ServSafe, etc.).
Must have and maintain a valid drivers license and satisfactory driving record.
