Senior ServiceNow Administrator (Hybrid Remote) (Finance)
Overview:
The Senior Infrastructure Operations Analyst develops, documents, and delivers functionality within the ServiceNow platform, other integrated platforms, and supports existing applications to ensure project requirements and business needs are met.
Responsibilities:
Writes moderately complex code, based on their translations of functional requirements and unit tests code to ensure proper functionality for business use.
Assists in the support of the system. Taking responsibility for on-call issues, acts as first point of contact for any job failure; review problem(s), identify issue(s) and work to resolve it; if cannot independently resolve it, escalates and works with escalated resource to solve the problem. Monitors the system and communicates with other areas regarding problems to ensure the system is functioning.
Collaborates within team to discuss issues and resolutions; provides status updates so others are informed of any implications that might affect them (e.g., trading implications).
Assists in the estimation of the size of the effort required to complete the project based upon analysis of requirements of modules assigned to them; estimates costs and time allotment needed for a project.
Stays informed of recent programming/technology topics to keep up to date and ensure their ability to work on a variety of projects using the latest languages/applications; receives cross training to support ServiceNow applications.
Provides 24-hour on-call support as needed by remotely accessing our systems and effectively troubleshooting until issues are resolved (8 weeks off, 2 weeks on-call)
Technical Challenges – Tasked with developing modules of an application of low to moderate complexity that will perform, within a system, to meet business requirements in light of constraints with development languages, platforms, and standards. Responsible for exploring and sharing alternative solutions, refers to Senior Infrastructure Operations Analyst for system integration issues. Refers to Project Leader for decision making.
Deadlines – Deadlines have been established to protect the business from financial exposure. This role often faces pressure situations while resolving production issues. Responsible for handling these situations with a sense of urgency.
Scope of Knowledge - Must keep current with new programming developments, learning curves for understanding new language/applications. Held accountable for self-development, may be assigned a mentor.
Requirements:
3+ years of relevant experience as a ServiceNow Administrator/Developer
Solid understanding of JavaScript
Familiarity with Relational Database Concepts and Design
Adaptable and able to learn quickly
Ability to translate functional business requirements into low to moderately complex technical solutions
Solid analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Solid verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Must be able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
Preferred knowledge and skills:
Application support work experience preferred
Solid understanding of modern JavaScript and UI framework/libraries (React, Angular, Jelly, HTML/CSS)
Experience integrating ServiceNow with other systems using web services (REST/SOAP) and related technologies (JSON, XML)
Experience creating and maintaining unit/integration/end to end tests in ServiceNow's Automated Test Framework
Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Perl, and/or Unix shell
Understanding of ITIL framework, ITSM, ITAM, CMDB, Asset Management
Some experience applying technical standards and change control policies and procedures preferred
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
