Quoting Specialist (Sales)



We are looking for an Quoting Specialist to join our team in maintaining a solid reputation with our customers and providing quality results. The Quoting Specialist will report to the Director, Applications and Projects. The primary role of the Quoting Specialist will be to prepare accurate estimates and proposals for Flow Assurance and Emissions Management products and services and Line Intervention Products. The successful candidate will accomplish this by understanding inquiry requirements, gathering information, and regularly analyzing key metrics. The Quoting Specialist will also demonstrate excellent customer service skills and professionalism while handling customer inquiries and requests.

Duties and Expectations:

  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve customer concerns in an expeditious and tactful manner
  • Answer and reply to incoming sales calls and e-mail inquiries
  • Understand and support established policies and procedures to provide proper and effective treatment of customers
  • Enter and maintain opportunities in company's existing systems for house accounts
  • Identify labor, material, and outside services requirements by researching customer provided drawings, customer specifications, industry standards, and other provided documentation
  • Review and understand applicable customer specifications to determine requirements that will have a commercial impact on the inquiry.
  • Generate RFQs and obtain quotes from suppliers and sub-contractors needed to prepare accurate cost estimates. Manage bid pricing from vendors as needed.
  • Conduct research to obtain data on labor costs, material/outside service costs, and production times
  • Review inquiries with Services, Engineering, and/or Project Management, as necessary, for design approach
  • Coordinate with Services, Manufacturing, and/or Project Management resources, as necessary, to determine delivery timeline or service scheduling for proposal
  • Develop an accurate cost estimate using existing tools and techniques
  • Accurately input estimated cost data and product descriptions into company systems
  • Generate accurate and complete proposals in accordance with existing processes and templates
  • Ensure purchase orders received are in accordance with submitted proposals and order data is entered accurately into the company's existing order management systems
  • Develop and publish the final budget for each project / order estimated
  • Analyze estimate to actual reports regularly to product accurate cost estimates
  • Keep up with product and service information and updates
  • Perform administrative and clerical duties as assigned

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Associates Degree or Equal experience in Oil and Gas Industry
  • Prior estimating experience preferred
  • 3-5 years customer service or inside sales experience in the pipeline industry
  • Experience in a manufacturing or fabrication company (possibly distribution)
