Senior Director, Talent Management & Engagement (Creative Design)
What You'll Be Doing (Essential Duties)
• Lead a team of Human Resources professionals at varying levels who are committed to the execution of our Talent Management and Engagement strategies. This position will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of these individuals, goal setting, measurement and coaching, and setting priorities for this team—ensuring that they are fully engaged with the Human Resources team, effectively communicating with and collaborating with their peers.
• Lead Talent Management efforts for the Agency, ensuring a focus and execution of Performance Management, Succession Planning/Talent Reviews and Assessments within business units to include building a robust pipeline for roles, maintaining a competitive advantage, identifying common development opportunities, and ensuring the selection and promotion of the best talent across the Agency
• Through effective collaboration and influence in a highly-networked environment, set talent strategy as well as the design, and implementation of innovative, best-in-class career mobility initiatives. Work with senior management and across the movement to build support for global adoption of talent sharing and career mobility.
• Define, develop, and facilitate competency based training, tools, delivery mechanisms and development for staff, including the areas of team building, management/leadership, change management and staff resilience as needed.
• Key lead for designing and administering Manager Essentials Series, CORE, Senior Management Development Programs and Leadership Development Programs, working closely with appropriate Learning and Development staff, Centers of Expertise and HR Business Advisors to coordinate the design and delivery of high quality programs.
• Evaluate Talent Management and Engagement program success using data derived from usage, training numbers, evaluation metrics, participation and related topics.
• Act as an ambassador of Save the Children US to promote learning and development and to gain support and credibility in the field and across the Save the Children movement to sustain and encourage the appetite for continued learning and development.
• Network externally to source pro bono and low-cost consulting assistance to support plans and programs. Maintain relationships carefully as to receive support when needed but not overuse generous pro-bono support.
• Address leadership and career development needs for key talent including developmental assignments, competency frameworks and the design of key talent learning programs.
• In partnership with the Senior Leadership Team, administer the Charles MacCormack-Sam Simon Inspiration Fund endowment review and award process.
• Aid Senior Management Team in the development of Employee Action Plans
• Work with Employee Engagement Team in the administration, analysis and action plans with our Employee Engagement Survey.
Required Qualifications
• You have a minimum of 10-15 years' of relevant experience
• Bachelor degree or relevant equivalent years of experience
• Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic programs with an organization-wide reach, delivering measurable results
• Proven ability to communicate with impact and influence across divisions without authority
• Excellent written and oral communication skills that reflect enthusiasm, sensitivity and flexibility to varied audiences throughout the Agency to ensure maximum engagement and impact
• Proven ability to assess and interpret client needs, and collaborate effectively to deliver solutions
• Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively.
• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and database administration.
• Strong knowledge and experience in a variety of change management principles, practices, processes and techniques.
• Demonstrated success working with and managing cross-functional teams, committees and councils to identify organizational development gaps, define solutions, and manage the implementation.
