Position Purpose - Sarting hourly rate $17.50

The Warehouse Donations Assistant plays a key role in assisting customers and donors by unloading donations, loading purchases, and keeping the donation dock and back room organized. This includes efficiently moving merchandise to and from the sales floor to support daily operations.

Essential Functions

  • Provide outstanding service to each customer and donor.

  • Safely and efficiently load and unload donated or purchased merchandise for customers.

  • Safely and efficiently load and unload ReStore trucks as needed.

  • Follow all safety procedures when moving merchandise to and from the sales floor.

  • Communicate the donation acceptance policy clearly to customers; refer donors to alternative options for items we do not accept.

  • Maintain working knowledge of ReStore products, services, and customer policies.

  • Collaborate effectively with staff and volunteers as a supportive team member.

  • Operate a forklift safely and responsibly as required (certification may be required).

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to move and lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted

  • Ability to move and lift at least 75 lbs. with assistance

  • Ability to work outdoors in all climates

  • Ability to obtain Forklift Certification and operate a forklift regularly

  • Ability to climb steps to access forklift cab

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods of time

Estimated Time Commitment

  • 40 hours/week, including weekends and periodic holidays

  • Rotating Monday–Saturday schedule (Sundays off)

  • Additional day off scheduled by supervisor

  • Shifts may begin as early as 8:30 AM and end as late as 7:00 PM, depending on staffing needs


Level of Authority

  • Requires minimal supervision

  • Reports to: Backroom Supervisor
