Join our award-winning team at WTVF in Nashville as our Weekday Evening Meteorologist! You'll play a vital role in keeping our viewers informed and safe by delivering accurate and engaging weather forecasts during our evening broadcasts. As a trusted weather expert, you'll connect with our community and become an essential part of Middle Tennessee households every evening.
Prepare and deliver daily weathercasts utilizing all available weather data and graphics computers
Prepare and deliver urgent weather updates interrupting regular programming as necessary
Prepare and deliver weathercast materials across multiple platforms including TV, radio, and internet
Assist management in evaluations of potential new weather data gathering and presentation computers
Receive assignments and evaluate news leads to develop compelling weather stories
Report live from event sites or mobile broadcast units
Write and produce quality weather stories for multiple media platforms
Report, write, capture visual content, edit, and produce stories for multiple platforms on deadline
Work cooperatively with photographers assigned to stories
Gather and verify factual information through interviews, observation, and research
Bachelor's degree in Meteorology preferred
Generally 3+ years experience in broadcast meteorology preferred
Computer literacy, including proficiency with weather and newsroom computer systems
Knowledge of broadcast quality camera equipment
Knowledge of editing systems
Strong broadcast and AP style writing skills
Proficiency in posting content to various websites
Self-motivation and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Driving required. Valid Driver's License, good driving record, and ability to provide proof of insurance with the company required insurance limits
