Senior Manager, Market Analytics (R&D)

Purpose:

~ Develop customized analytics to support the overall improvement in HMA business performance; provide data-driven insights on opportunities to improve profit; monitor and track key performance metrics for each model; and conduct data analysis to support the preparation of ad hoc and executive-level reports/requests.

 

Major Responsibilities:

~ Oversee the continued development and support of market performance activities including:

~ Generation of operational reports for regional profit/performance.  Identify opportunities to increase enterprise profit by looking at regional mix variances, regional availability/turn-rates, and market dynamics.

~ Enhance the monthly competitive pricing and value reports and work with Incentives to integrate into Governance process.

~Support Pricing and Product Planning teams with market insights to assist in price positioning documents and identify profit improvement opportunities.

~ Support  Pricing and Product Planning by sharing proactive tool development for things like content differences/price point advantages

~ Oversee the development of long-range HMA sales plans

~ Utilize industry forecasting partners, competitive insights, and Long Range Product Plan to forecast Hyundai/Genesis long-term sales performance.

~ Work with Finance to track profitability impact of changes to plan.

~ Work with Vehicle Operations and Sales Planning to Track current Sales performance and identify opportunities/risk to  previous mid-term plan 

~ Integrate historical sales by state, and other data sources to improve accuracy and support HMNA/HMC's emissions compliance tracking

~ Oversee Loyalty data partner relationship, and drive loyalty/conquest data deeper into the broader organization. Serve as Subject Matter Expert on various methods to track conquest/loyalty.

~ Oversee cross-functional launch tracking exercises for core Hyundai vehicle launches and provided recommendations/ observations ot Executive Management

~ Prepare ad-hoc department and executive reports that incorporate industry insights and interpretation.

~ Manage staff, effectively coach, counsel, and develop staff.  Utilize the diverse talents of the staff by efficiently managing staff's time, materials and budget while focusing on the goals and vision of the company.

~ Other ad-hoc assignments as required by the department.

 

Authority:

~ Make presentation of findings and recommendations to key executives.

~ Identify business opportunities.

~ Interface directly with other departments to provide requests and guidelines and obtain appropriate information.

~ Determine format and content of mid-level analytical and strategic recommendations.

~ Responsible for the evaluation, hiring, and full supervision of direct reports.

 

Education:

~ Bachelor's degree required.

~ Master's degree a plus

 

Related Experience:

~ Seven to ten years of experience of which at least five years of directly related experience in automotive manufacturer/distributor with direct product planning experience.

~ Two to three years of supervisory experience desired.

 

Skill/Knowledge:

~ Strong analytical skills and mastery of analytical tools (e.g. Excel, Tableau, SAS) and industry Data (HIS, JDPA PIN, Maritz, Urban Science, etc.).

~ Experience creating and presenting executive-facing presentations and other material.

~ Ability to work on multiple projects and set priorities.

~ Automotive industry experience preferred.

~ Strong written and oral communication skills.

~ Ability to support executives through the creation of internal presentations, evaluation of business cases and evaluation refinement of reporting capabilities.

~ Able to determine essential capabilities or performance levels throughout Hyundai business divisions, build executive consensus on a course of action and drive programs through implementation.
