Outside Sales Rep – Mountains Area
Job Description
This is an outside sales position responsible for promoting the company's products and services and for building relationships with new and existing accounts. The main focus is to help FreshPoint customers succeed while achieving sales and profit goals established by the company.
· Having a minimum of 2 years of outside sales, Foodservice or Produce Distribution experience preferred.
· Must have a basic understanding of distribution and warehouse operations
· Proven ability to generate new sales and foster partnership at the Chef/Manager level.
· Communicate effectively; attention to detail and follow through when directed.
· Proven ability to effectively apply the basic tenants of effective salesmanship
Requirements
· Must possess valid driver's license, a clean MVR and proof of active insurance coverage.
· Maintain and grow all multi-unit and program accounts in our geographical area.
· Develop a regular systematic daily call schedule. Develop measurable weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly goals and objectives.
· Prepare territory activity reports weekly.
· Conduct business reviews with customers regularly.
· Maintain accurate customer profiles, including new account form for each new customer.
· Collect accounts receivable in accordance with company policy.
· Prepare and present approved proposals for potential customers.
· Update and monitor bids and pricing regularly to maximize gross profit.
· Keep customers informed of any pricings and market changes in timely fashion.
· Demonstrate and sample products when feasible.
· Gain organizational alignment to satisfy customer and company needs.
· Develop and foster partnerships with key contacts at multi-units.
· Report any collection problems to your Sales Manager and Credit Department.
· Attend all Sales Meetings
· Personally check in first produce order for new customers.
· Ensure a smooth transition of accounts to customer service and handle customer and company issues in reference to: delivery, product quality, service, accounts receivable.
· Assure that all Company (FreshPoint) and customer contracts are in compliance
· Other duties as assigned.
May be required to work on weekends and holidays.
Must adhere to good attendance and assigned work schedule.
Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices, Company Policies and Safety Procedures.
Physical Requirements:
Able to enter date into computer system.
Able to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time.
Able to operate a motor vehicle in order to meet with customers and potential customers.
This is an office, warehouse and outside environment.
Ability to drive/navigate in all types of weather.
