Tax Analyst, International Tax (Finance)

Job Title: Tax Analyst, International Tax

Reports to: Senior Accountant, International Tax

Location: Goleta, CA; Thousand Oaks, CA; or Southern California (Remote Hybrid)

The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical International Tax Analyst to support our global tax operations. This role will assist with international tax compliance and transfer pricing activities. As an International Tax Analyst you will have the opportunity to work closely with internal finance and legal teams, external advisors, and cross-border stakeholders to ensure compliance with global tax laws and support tax-efficient business decisions. Your Impact

The primary functions of this role, include but are not limited to:

Participate in all aspects of U.S. international tax compliance, including: monitoring the international tax compliance calendar, review of tax return preparation (U.S. international components) and calculation/review of all 1118's, 5471's, 8858's, 8832's, FinCEN Form 114, earnings and profits, income sourcing/expense apportionment, subpart F, Section 956 calculations, foreign tax credits and other calculations in support of tax compliance.

Prepare the U.S. international tax components of the company's ASC 740 calculations & related issues for financial statement reporting, including the global forecast of annual pre-tax book income in support of the annual effective tax rate, Subpart F, GILTI, foreign tax credit. Also includes maintaining and monitoring compliance with Sarbanes - Oxley Act requirements that are associated with ACS 740 U.S. international tax components of the quarterly tax provision and transfer pricing calculations. This activity will require knowledge of OneSource Tax Provision, involvement with the foreign accounting and finance teams, foreign tax department personnel and the company's external advisors.

Assist with the analysis and calculation of corporate income tax computations, filings, and estimated payments for Canadian and other North American jurisdictions.

Develop an understanding of global transfer pricing policies, prepare global operational transfer pricing calculations, and support the review of contemporaneous global transfer pricing documentation. Participate and assist with tax department of technology initiatives including tax department automation and process improvement initiatives, ongoing support, training, and utilization of existing technology platforms including Hyperion, Alteryx, BI, OneSource tax provision, Oracle and other technologies. Must be quickly adaptable to new and existing technology platforms.

We'd love to hear from people with

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or related field; Master's degree and CPA license or equivalent (i.e. LLM) a plus.
  • 2 - 4 years of corporate income tax experience with a focus on international tax and/or transfer pricing.
  • Strong analytical skills and project management skills
  • Strong research skills
  • Detail oriented with strong trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Great teammate who can work effectively across distances with global tax
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate self to meet or exceed expectations and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Sharepoint) and tax-research software

The salary range posted reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this role in Goleta, CA. Individual pay will be determined by location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
