Plant Manager - Strengths in Chemical Operations (Manufacturing)



Overview

Viskase Osceola's Plant Manager role demands a seasoned professional with comprehensive experience leading chemical manufacturing operations effectively.  Our ideal candidate brings a dynamic skill set that includes various aspects of overseeing plant operations, financial leadership, ensuring compliance, managing resources efficiently, continuous improvement and fostering a positive work environment.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Leadership: Advise, lead, direct, develop, and mentor your team; Promote a positive work environment and high employee morale within the plant. Create a culture of accountability.
  • Review and Organize Operations
  • Production Scheduling Oversight
  • Problem Resolution: Coordinate with your department leaders to advise and resolve production-related problems swiftly and effectively to minimize disruptions.
  • Budget Management: Plan, organize, and control budget performance, providing explanations for any variances that occur.
  • Quality Improvement and Waste Reduction
  • Employee Relations: Collaborate with the Plant HR Manager to address and resolve employee relations issues and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
  • Quality Control: Manage quality control processes to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, ensuring both the process and the product meet set standards.
  • Technical Engineering Assistance: Oversee technical engineering support in the production process to maintain efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Product Distribution: Ensures the effective distribution of products to other plants and customers efficiently.
  • Safety and Regulatory Compliance
  • Collaboration: Provide advice and support concerning corporate plans and objectives, ensuring alignment with plant activities.
  • Compliance Management: Ensure adherence to corporate policies, health, safety, environmental regulations, and governmental regulations within the plant.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure optimal levels of raw materials, commodities, and storeroom inventories through effective materials management oversight.
  • ISO Standards Adherence

 

Education and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business, management, engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in chemicals manufacturing, including at least 5 years in an operations manager role with budgetary responsibility
  • Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially MS Word, Excel, excellent verbal and listening skills, judgment skills, problem-solving abilities, conflict management skills, and the ability to lead, direct, and motivate a team effectively.
  • Personal Attributes: High energy, driven to succeed, effective communication skills at all levels, critical thinking, accountability for results, and a collaborative approach to achieving goals.
