Advanced Process Engineer
The Advanced Process Engineer will be a key player in executing the Fuse Development Roadmap in the electric vehicle (EV) industry. Primary functions of this role include creation of prototype concepts, tooling, and processes for new product development. Secondary functions of this role include isolating and identifying quality, design, and manufacturing problems and sharing of information about prototype processes to a global manufacturing team. This engineer will be accountable for execution of engineering development tasks and coordination with project managers to ensure successful and on-time completion of development projects.
About the Job:
30% of time will be focused on the development of innovative prototype processes and tooling per design concepts provided by product development engineers.
40% of time will be spent building and inspecting prototype parts per drawings and/or work instructions, typically validating the tooling developed in the first bullet point.
20% of this engineer's time will be utilized for communicating with global manufacturing facilities to assist with development of innovative high volume production processes.
The remainder of time will be spent participating in product / process design reviews and developing concepts using tolerance stack-ups / GD&T.
Additionally: Maintaining a local product development laboratory & equipment, while also potentially supervising local technician resources.
About You:
BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering – or similar degree with extensive industry experience.
10+ years experience in the development of processes in a complex manufacturing or R&D environment.
3D CAD Design experience and 2D drawing creation required (GD&T a plus).
Proven track record in project execution.
Good communication & presentation skills required.
