Maintenance Technician 2 - 3rd Shift (Finance)



Overview

We are seeking a full-time Operations Maintenance Technician 2 in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for executing the daily operations of maintenance of common and/or moderately complex repairs of equipment in Manufacturing and Warehousing/Shipping areas within Operations.

Essential Functions

  • Capable of applying industry standards and procedures to develop, implement, and document operational processes
  • Work safely and follow all safety policies
  • Proficient use and knowledge of engineering tools
  • Perform small projects and/or sub-projects as part of a greater project under the direction of a supervisor or mentor and able to work in conjunction with service providers
  • Analyze opportunities for cost and quality improvements
  • Completely execute Lock Out/Tag Out of equipment
  • Provide reliable solutions to a variety of problems using sound problem solving techniques
  • Identify process/quality improvements and offer suggestions for improvement
  • Demonstrate ability to identify & fix problems within a given trade
  • Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers
  • Serve as a mentor to less experienced Maintenance Technicians (Maintenance Level 1)
  • Cleanliness zone area requirements: This position requires Garmin provided personal protective equipment including SD shoes (Static Dissipative Footwear) to be always worn for an entire shift to minimize the risk of electrostatic discharge (ESD) and meet specified standards
Basic Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree in a technical related field OR a minimum of 2 years maintenance experience OR completion/certification of a qualified technical trade program AND a minimum of 1 year demonstrated experience
  • Successfully demonstrates knowledge of all skills from Level 1 plus the ability to trouble shoot mechanical/electrical machines and assemblies, operate within work order/PM database and process instructions, parts warehousing & organization, water softener operation, and general plumbing
  • Experience with conveyor equipment, live rollers, belts, electric motors, sensors, pneumatic equipment and industrial controls
  • Electro-mechanical experience
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and test equipment
Desired Qualifications
  • Technical School Certification in Electronics, Industrial or Maintenance Technology or related facilities degree
  • Refrigerant license
  • Electrical Journeyman license
  • 5+ years related experience
  • Experience with automated assembly, testing, and conveying equipment
