Space Policy Analyst-Secretariat and Fusion, #4852 (Project Management)
This person will be a strategic level policy analyst, advisor and planner to the Principal Assistant to the Secretary of the Air Force for Space (SAF/SP). They will directly support SAF/SP Fusion Branch Chief as well as the Secretariat and Fusion Division Chief. Responsible for formulating and coordinating strategic Department of Defense (DOD) policy positions and synchronization across multiple US Government Agencies and Departments including the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), NASA, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the US Department of State, DOD Services (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines) and COCOMs as well as the National Security Council (NSC).
Responsibilities:
Conduct quarterly Space Councils (formerly Defense Space Council) as a means of multi-Service collaboration and cooperation on space issues; measure effectiveness through participation level and number of other space enterprise organizations involvedExecute biannual AF-NASA-NRO Summits to foster organizational collaboration on common interest items and actions; measure effectiveness through senior leader interestRestructure of the Mission Area Reviews and conduct quarterly briefings to SAF/SP Director; measure effectiveness based on Director feedbackAdvance NSS strategies through participation in established processes for requirements (JROC)Advance NSS strategies through participation in established processes for planning, programming, budgeting, and executionAdvance NSS strategies through participation in established processes for space program acquisitionInform the Deputys Management Action Group (DMAG) on Space Council deliberations and recommendations; Present periodic updates to the DMAG on Space Council deliberations and recommendations and SecAF recommendations derived from those deliberations; Present periodic updates to the DMAG on the state of the defense-related elements of NSS; Present periodic updates to the DMAG on Major space issuesFormulate Air Force space policies, strategies and programs that are fully consistent with national security objectives and policies established by the President or the Secretary of DefenseOversee Air Force integration with the National Security Space EnterpriseDrafts and coordinates Director's official correspondence, presentations, speeches, briefings, meeting prep, and public appearances.Drafts and coordinates essential directorate policies, processes, and strategic planning documents to ensure unity of effort across the SAF/SP organization and the Defense Space (DS) enterprise.
