The YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region is hiring a responsible, energetic and conscientious Wellness Floor Attendant for the YMCA at First & Main. The Wellness Attendant will create a safe and positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals while overseeing participants using equipment and also participating in programs in all areas of the Healthy Living Center. Strong communication, listening and organizational skills are required.
SHIFT REQUIREMENTS:

MINIMUM CRITERIA FOR CANDIDATES: • Must be at least 18 years of age • Six months to 1 year of experience in strength training preferred • YMCA Healthy Lifestyle Principles certification within 6 months of hire date OR with approved action plan in place • General knowledge of exercise and weight training, including basic anatomy, physiology, and exercise principles • Able to physically demonstrate exercises and equipment use and lift up to 100 pounds • All YMCA staff positions require certification in CPR/AED-Professional Rescuer, First Aid and Oxygen Administration. Preferred candidates will have current certifications however training is available
KEY FOCUS AREAS: • Greet and assist members in use of all strength/conditioning and cardio equipment • Instruct members on proper use of fitness equipment schedule and conduct weight room orientations, classes or personal fitness programs • Ensure the safety of all members using the Healthy Living Center by consistently enforcing the Healthy Living Center policies • Maintain cleanliness in all areas, including equipment • Support and follow YMCA policies and decisions. Answer member questions about the YMCA and its programs • Assist Membership Representatives in demonstrating use of fitness equipment to potential members • Attend staff meetings • Assist with repair and maintenance of equipment
