Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including: Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and bank reconciliations. 2. Assist with monthly financial reports in compliance with GAAP. 3. Oversee inventory and cost accounting processes specific to food manufacturing, ensuring accurate tracking and valuation. 4. Assists with audits. 5. Supervise and mentor a team of staff accountants, fostering professional development and high performance. 6. Performs monthly balance sheet and income statement account analysis. 7. Manages month-end account reconciliation and cash receipts. 8. Manages general ledger transactions. 9. Oversees payroll tax filings on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis as well as oversee the preparation and accuracy of W-2s. 10. Oversees and provides back-up for payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Cost Accounting. 11. Controls our inventory management system. 12. Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions. 13. Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles. 14. Direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy. 15. Provides recommendations to accounting processes and procedures. 16. Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls. 17. Performs other duties as directed by the Chief Financial Officer.
