Social Media Specialist (Finance)

Leidos QTC Health Services is seeking a Social Media Specialist to support external communications and marketing efforts. Reporting to the LQTC External Communications Manager, this role is responsible for sourcing, writing, editing, and publishing content across social media platforms to enhance brand awareness, audience engagement, and campaign impact. The specialist will work closely with the communications and marketing team, as well as internal partners, to amplify key initiatives, events, and thought leadership content.

In addition to managing day-to-day social media operations, the specialist will help educate and inspire colleagues across LQTC to tell our story more effectively through social media and foster broader employee advocacy. Community management—including listening, reporting, and responding to inbound inquiries—will be a core part of this role, helping ensure timely and appropriate engagement with audiences.

This position serves as the primary point of contact for LQTC's social media activities, coordinating with the Leidos Corporate Social Media manager to ensure alignment with enterprise campaigns, messaging, and brand standards.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the strategy, planning, and execution of content for LQTC's social media channels, ensuring alignment with brand voice, campaign priorities, and broader Leidos communications strategies
  • Collaborate with the communications and marketing team to create engaging, user-focused content that enhances our social media presence, supports business objectives, and drives audience engagement
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to provide guidance and best practices on social media use, advocating for a cohesive and effective online presence
  • Write, edit, and adapt content for multiple platforms, including intelligent reuse and repackaging of existing assets into new formats for social media distribution
  • Coordinate with the Leidos Corporate Social Media manager to align social media promotion of LQTC initiatives with enterprise campaigns and editorial calendars
  • Monitor and manage community engagement across social platforms, ensuring timely listening, response, and reporting of audience interactions
  • Track and report on social media metrics to assess performance, identify trends, and recommend improvements
  • Support the External Communications Manager and broader team in integrating social media into external campaigns, events, and thought leadership efforts
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, or a related field; equivalent experience will also be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum 4 years of professional experience managing social media content and strategy
  • Proficiency with social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Instagram, X), publishing tools, and scheduling workflows
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to distill complex topics into clear, compelling content
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience tracking and interpreting social media analytics and engagement metrics
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and responsiveness
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting social media in a healthcare, government, or regulated environment
  • Familiarity with enterprise-level brand standards and content governance
  • Experience coordinating with enterprise social media or brand teams
  • Demonstrated ability to educate and guide internal stakeholders on social media best practices
  • Background in community management, including moderation, listening tools, or responding to inquiries
  • Comfort repurposing long-form content into short-form social copy or visual-first posts
  • Experience aligning social media content to broader campaign or event strategies
  • Knowledge of image/video editing tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Express) for quick-turn visual content

This role may fall under the Service Contract Act (SCA), a federal law which provides for a U.S. Department of Labor-prescribed minimum prevailing rate of pay and certain benefit levels.
