The University of Texas Police Department is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as a Full-Time Police Cadet. This is an exciting opportunity to begin a rewarding career in law enforcement within a prestigious university system.

- Attend and successfully complete the University of Texas System Police Academy.

Position Summary:
Attends and satisfactorily completes the University of Texas System Police Academy, qualifying for commissioning as a peace officer. Impacts fulfilling the academic, physical and practical requirements of the basic training school of the University of Texas System Police Academy.
Position Key Accountabilities:
Essential Functions
- Participates in physical training program, firearms training, defensive tactics program and practical problem solving.
- Complies with assignments, policies and instructions given by the Director, Police or any member of the academy staff.
- Adheres to rules and regulations promulgated by the Board of Regents of the University of Texas System.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Certification/Skills:
- Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by the Police Department.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen per the Texas Administrative Code - 37 T.A.C. 217.1 (B)(17).
- DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State Valid Class A, B or C Texas driver's license required

Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
