The Master of Science in Global Medicine program, within the department of Educational Affairs at the Keck School of Medicine of USC, is seeking Student Services Advisor I with significant experience in the area of pre-health advising. The Student Services Advisor I interacts with USC faculty, staff, and students. Successful execution of the position requires extensive interaction with university partners in departments that oversee student admission, financial aid, registration, and student affairs, among others. Interacts with prospective students in order to facilitate the application process, as needed, in cooperation with central divisions of the university.
The student services advisor I is primarily responsible for tasks related to student advisement and student services. The student services advisor I: provides academic counseling for graduate students in the Global Medicine program; advises on matters of curriculum, course and degree requirements, and graduation counseling and clearance; evaluates student problems, academic, administrative or personal, and refers students to appropriate student services office for additional counseling; provides pre-health advising for students who want to pursue further education in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, PA, and other health professions; provides career information and services for students and alumni; maintains academic unit student records and coordinates registration activities, grading, degree progress, and enrollment and degree verification. The student services advisor also plays a role in planning and attending recruitment events, and the design and production of promotional program materials and marketing campaigns
