Technician I (Finance)



TransCore (TCI), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking two (2) full-time Technician I to join our team in the Miramar, Florida office.

Summary: Performs on-site or in-house servicing, repair and/or installation of customer equipment. This job may include any aspect of field support including troubleshooting and repair of electronic equipment, systems, and wiring; installation of equipment; upgrades, modifications, programming; preventive maintenance actions; and documentation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Installs or maintains equipment including but not limited to cameras, detectors, controller cabinets
  • Installs or maintains electrical conductor, data conductor, and fiber optic cable
  • Installs or maintains pull boxes, conduit, poles and foundations
  • Connects conductors to equipment to make equipment work correctly
  • Connects electrical conductors to power services to energize equipment
  • Tests devices to ensure they work correctly
  • Prepares logs to keep track of field conditions and installation/maintenance activities

Requirements and Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) strongly preferred.
  • Must maintain driver's license in good standing as verified by TransCore.
  • Must be comfortable working at heights up to 80 ft.
  • Working knowledge of practical electronic theory, math, VOM, DVM, basic hand tools, basic electronic tools, basic machine tools, schematics, and rough sketches.
  • Working knowledge of the practices, tools, equipment and materials utilized within the electronic and mechanical trades.
  • Knowledge of advanced electronic circuitry with experience in microprocessor-controlled equipment.
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints, construction, and assembly drawings.
  • Able to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Read and interpret technical manuals.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Ability to prioritize work.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

Physical demands and work environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; sit; use hands to poke, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions and moving traffic. Apply
