RESTORATIVE AIDE (Healthcare)



Position Summary

Under the direction of licensed nursing staff and rehabilitation therapists, the Restorative Aide delivers restorative care to residents with the aim of maintaining or improving their physical function. This role supports individualized care plans, focusing on exercises, transfers, mobility, ADLs, and restorative dining, to promote maximum independence and prevent functional decline.
Key Responsibilities
Implement physician and therapist-directed restorative programs: AROM/PROM exercises, gait/mobility training, transfers, bed positioning, splint/bracing, and restorative feeding techniques
Assist residents in self-care: dressing, grooming, bathing, toileting, feedingwith cueing to encourage participation.
Document each session using flow sheets or restorative notes, including resident responses and notes for progress.
Regularly evaluate and share progress with nursing staff and therapists; report pain or adverse responses.
Prepare and clean therapy equipment and treatment areas between sessions ?.
Monitor safe body mechanics during transfers and ambulation.
Participate in restorative dining programs by cueing residents per SLP/therapist directives.
Collaborate across disciplines: PT/OT, speech therapy, nursing, dietary, and therapy teams; attend care plan meetings and trainings.
Provide light CNA support on the floor as necessary.
Ensure confidentiality per HIPAA, and maintain infection control and safety compliance.

Required Qualifications
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with an active Oklahoma CNA credential.
High school diploma or GED.
Special training or experience in restorative care (on-the-job or formal class).
Proficiency in documentation using electronic or paper systems.
Basic CPR/BLS certification.
Physical ability to perform transfers, ambulation assistance, lifting, and prolonged standing.
Excellent communication skills for interacting with residents, families, and the care team.
Preferred Experience
Prior work in a skilled nursing facility, long-term care, or rehabilitation environment.
Familiarity with restorative dining, splint application, cessations paddings, passive exercise techniques.
