Territory Sales Specialist - Tempe, AZ (Finance)

Job Description

 The Territory Sales Specialist will partner with members of Internal Sales, External Sales and Sales Management Teams to be more efficient and productive supporting sales of John Hancock Investments products and retaining assets in John Hancock Investments products. This role will independently identify opportunities by leveraging data and technology at the territory level to drive sales. This will be a mix of day to day activities and ongoing projects.  These activities include, but are not limited to: evaluating data packs and broker dealer advisor information, Salesforce.com report insight and construction, InsideSales.com play design, and sales team activity.

Responsibilities:

  • Increase efficiency and utilization of Insidesales.com by creating and designing plays for sales teams to leverage and salesforce.com by creating reports to serve up top prospects to sales teams
  • Coach sales teams to better leverage data and resources to identify best prospects
  • Pull data and provide reporting on advisor and firm specifics
  • Analyze broker dealer data packs, sales team activity to drive additional sales opportunities
  • Establish and cultivate relationships with Sales Management and territory sales teams
  • Uncover opportunities that could enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Intermediary sales teams
  • Provide superior support by providing timely reports, conducting research, and collaborating on ongoing projects for sales management and sales teams including, National sales manager, divisional sales manager, Internal sales manager and territory sales teams
  • Participate in monthly roundtable discussions and feedback sessions around effective sales strategies with sales management and help to share insight of top performing teams
  • Maintain competitive intelligence by attending weekly Capital Markets meetings and engaging other internal departments including National Accounts and Marketing to understand John Hancock's internal strategies and how to compliment these initiatives
  • Analysis and tracking of Territory Action Plans that are created by sales teams to evaluate success and drive activity ensuring activity and sales goals are achieved

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required (Degree in Economics and/or Finance are strongly encouraged to apply)
  • Strong desire to obtain the Series 7 and Series 63 securities licenses
  • High level of interest in capital markets and sales
  • Strong desire to obtain sales experience within the financial services industry
  • Demonstrated relationship management skills, including the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong time management, organizational, and problem solving skills
  • Statistical and predictive analytics experience is a plus
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly while applying creativity
  • Ability to work in a changing fast paced environment, with enthusiasm and a positive attitude
  • This position is subject to the Securities and Exchange Commissions Pay-to-Play Rule 206(4)-5 regarding political contributions by investment advisors and their covered associates
