Program Manager 1 - Bauer Small Business Development Center (Finance)
1. Plans and develops procedures for administering a small or medium-sized department or program.
2. Oversees program expenditures and ensures adherence to budget.
3. Provides guidance to subordinate staff and evaluates performance.
4. May prepare or participate in the creation of abstracts, research reports, funding proposals, operations and procedure manuals, and other written material and documentation.
5. Reviews reports of budgets and activities.
6. Prepares ad hoc reports as needed.
7. May administer grants and grant-related related communications, scholarships and other operations.
8. Develops, implements and maintains appropriate policies and procedures. 9. May serve as property custodian for the department.
10. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Notes to Applicant:
This position will be off campus at the Texas Gulf Coast SBDC Region Office, located at 1455 West Loop South in the Houston Galleria area.
The SBDC Network is funded through cooperative agreements with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), the Office of Small Business Programs (OSBP), and the State of Texas. The continuation of all SBDC positions is contingent on the continuation of funding from both the SBA and the State of Texas at current levels.
Primary Responsibilities for this position include:
• Managing initiatives related to department programs
• Generating and reviewing reports of budget and activities
• Inputting data and running reports from CRM database
• Creating financial projections for the SBDC Network and its programs
• Assisting with data analysis for the SBDC programs
• Providing light administrative support for the SBDC executive team
Experience will be considered in lieu of education.
MQ: Education: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Experience: No experience required.
