Cashier (Wedge Linden Hills) (Manufacturing)



Weekend and evening availability required

Reports to: Front End Manager

Cashiers check out customer purchases and otherwise assist customers, to meet objectives for accuracy and provide prompt, friendly, courteous customer service.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Greet customers, smiling and making eye contact. Assist customers with questions, in prompt, friendly, courteous manner, referring them to others when necessary. Offer suggestions for purchases and ways to prepare products. Help customers place and pickup special orders. Check out customer purchases quickly and accurately, using correct prices, PLU's and departments. Call for back-up as needed so that customers wait as little as possible to be checked out. Bag customer purchases. For those needing assistance, offer to carry out groceries or call for help if available. Close out registers following established procedures. Balance cash drawer at end of shift. Refer unresolved customer questions or problems to customer service desk or Floor Coordinator. Promote membership and receive membership payments. Inform customers of specials or upcoming events Keep checkout, and storage areas in clean, orderly condition: dust shelves, clean up spills and other hazards, sweep and mop floors as needed, take out trash and recyclables, remove boxes. Alert Floor Coordinator to potential shoplifters, disorderly customers or other emergencies. Perform other tasks assigned by Front End Manager. Attend department meetings, storewide meetings, and training as scheduled.

QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to handle multiple demands and stay calm. Experience serving the public. Ability to project friendly, outgoing personality. Familiarity with natural foods. Organized, accurate, pays attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to work with customers and coworkers from diverse cultural backgrounds. Ability to work with TCCP to create an inclusive environment where all are welcomed.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time Use hands to finger to handle product and POS system Excellent verbal and written communication skills The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
