Assembler (Finance)



**SOLDERING EXPERIENCE HIGHLY DESIRED** PAY - $15/HOUR after certification pay increases to $17/hour REAL JOB PREVIEW VIDEO: Assembler Realistic Job Preview SUMMARY Under general supervision, the Electrical Assembler I is responsible for performing simple cable assembly operations to build high-quality cables, wire harnesses and integrated products for the aerospace industry. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Builds simple point-to-point wire/fiber cables following drawings and instructions to a high level of quality and productivity Demonstrates proper use of basic hand tools: heat gun, hand crimpers, power screwdriver, solder pot, ruler and other machines such as pinning machines and automatic wire strippers Identifies wires with use of basic color code sequence Completes all necessary paperwork relating to the building of cable assemblies Consistently demonstrates sound knowledge required by Assembler I training Makes sure that workstation is clean, organized and free of hazardous materials Is familiar with all factory safety procedures and guidelines This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary Mathematical skills - Addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division skills, using all units of measure (whole numbers, fractions, and decimals). Ability to track and record production results and follow priorities to ensure on-time completion of tasks. Must have physical dexterity. Good vision, eye-hand coordination, and the ability to accurately distinguish and identify colors to comply with safety codes and operational procedures. Ability to use production tools and equipment. Performs all tasks in a safe and efficient manner to protect oneself, others, products, materials and other company assets from harm. Operates with a high degree of integrity in the performance of duties to foster good working relationships, develop a spirit of teamwork, and accomplish job goals Must be able to hear audible alarms for building evacuation and shelter in place and moving equipment. Must be able to hear audible equipment alarms and other noises associated with product problems in order to avoid scrap. Must be able to communicate in English; written and verbal. Physical Demands: Standing, sitting, walking, reaching, bending, twisting, stoop, kneel, crouch, pushing/pulling, handling and feeling. Must independently lift, carry, and wield up to 50 pounds; must lift and move, with mechanical lifts and by rolling, 100 pounds or more. Must be able to work at heights; work around or with moving machinery; operate mobile equipment. *Other duties may be assigned* SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES None WORK ENVIRONMENT Amphenol CIT St Augustine is a clean facility housing different kinds of machinery, equipment, processes and chemicals which produce potential hazards in the work environment such as: ergonomic, chemical, machine point of operation, and powered industrial vehicle traffic. These hazards are controlled through means of engineering controls, such as machine guarding, and administrative controls, such as safety policies and programs. In certain areas of the facility, employees are required to wear Personal Protective equipment such as Hearing Protection, Safety Glasses, Safety Toe Shoes, and hand protection.
