VP, Growth & Lifecycle Marketing (Finance)

Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, the Vice President of Growth and Lifecycle Marketing will be responsible for developing and executing growth strategies that drive user acquisition, engagement, and retention for all of Yahoo. This role will require a blend of strategic thinking, data-driven decision-making, and smart execution to accelerate our company's growth and enhance our market presence across all our brands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy Development and Execution:
    • Develop and implement comprehensive growth marketing strategies that align with Yahoo's goals and objectives. This includes growth marketing plans and measurement for all Yahoo verticals (e.g. News, Mail, Finance, Sports, Fantasy, Search and B2B).
    • Identify and capitalize on market opportunities to drive efficient user acquisition, engagement, and revenue growth.
    • Oversee strategy, planning and implementation of brand media.
    • Determine paid investment balance between brand and growth to enhance relevance and drive traffic.
  • Team Leadership and Management:
    • Build, lead and mentor a high-performing growth marketing team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and results-driven performance with speed
    • Lead and manage our agency partners across both growth and brand media
    • Own the organizational effectiveness of a global team across Media, CRM and Marketing Analytics
  • Data-Driven Decision Making:
    • Utilize analytics and data insights to inform marketing strategies and optimize campaigns.
    • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of growth initiatives and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Be an expert at influencing business leaders and partners and moving projects forward quickly in a matrixed environment.
    • Drive integrated marketing campaigns that leverage various channels including digital, social media, email, and content marketing.
    • Work closely with Product, Marketing Technology, Content and Engineering teams to execute plans. Establish processes to coordinate teams.
    • Partner with Marketing Technology to clearly define the vision, establish marketing requirements (e.g. tools, instrumentation), and shape the product roadmap
  • Innovation and Experimentation:
    • At the forefront of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape to drive innovative growth strategies.
    • Test and implement new marketing tactics and channels to enhance user acquisition and retention.
    • Build fast-paced, high-impact culture where nimbleness and experimentation is the norm
  • Budget Management:
    • Develop and manage the growth marketing budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources to achieve maximum ROI.
    • Monitor expenditures and optimize budget performance to meet growth targets.
  • Stakeholder Communication:
    • Report on growth and lifecycle marketing performance to senior leadership and stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
    • Represent the company at industry events and conferences to build brand awareness and industry relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 15+ years of experience in growth marketing, with a proven track record of driving substantial growth in a tech media or similar industry.
  • Proven track record of driving results while prioritizing speed.
  • Extensive experience in digital marketing, including CRM, SEO, SEM, content marketing, paid social media, and email marketing.
  • Experience in app and subscription businesses.
  • Experience leading a team in a remote environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage data to drive decision-making and optimize marketing strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing teams, with exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Commitment to travel to quarterly team offsites and critical meetings.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to a variety of audiences.

The compensation for this position ranges from $218,750.00 - $406,250.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
