Conference and Events Planner (Finance)



This Conference & Events Planner is responsible for the campus wide scheduling, planning, and implementation for meetings, events, and conferencing on the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus. The Conference & Events Planner fosters partnerships with campus wide staff, faculty, technical services staff, coordination with student staff, facilities, public safety, and the catering department. Reporting to the Associate Director of Event Management, this position will aid in the planning of all facets of USF Sarasota-Manatee events primarily occurring on campus but occasionally at off-site venues as well. The position will oversees logistics for conferences and events, including but not limited to the arrangements for registration, facilities set up, audiovisual equipment, security, parking and transportation.This position requires a Bachelor's degree in communication, marketing, public relations, hospitality management, business management, digital media, or related field, with two years of experience in related positions; or a Master's degree in the fields listed above; or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.

4 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree.

Coordinates event planning efforts with on campus event hosts to ensure the overall success of the on campus event. Plans, schedules, and monitors logistical activities for the event, including set ups, break downs, audiovisual, security, parking, and equipment needs.

Provides on-site management for events, ensuring spaces are set up accordingly in advance of the event and that the needs of the campus host are met. This may require being on campus early mornings, nights, and weekends.

Runs the daily event report and distributes to partners. Attends the weekly event meeting and will report out to the campus partners on events to prepare for the upcoming month of activities.

Assists Associate Director of Event Management on full service planning of signature campus events
