  • Highschool or GED preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years' of related safety experience
  • Previous experience working in an aerospace manufacturing environment preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, policies and procedure in English
  • Ability to comprehend basic shop math (algebra)

This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Summary:

The EHS Technician reports to the EHS manager and assists in compliance with all OSHA and EPA regulations. This individual will support production and the Tucson plant site by advancing the safety and environmental program initiatives.

  • Issuing monthly training through the learning management system and Holding In person training sessions
  • Managing all Controlled EHS and EMS Documents.
  • Investigate IFEs to ensure that employees get follow ups on their submissions
  • Back up EHS Manager:
    • New Hire Training
    • Making Badges
    • Emergency Coordinator
    • Meetings
    • ISO14001
    • Employee Recognition and Participation Programs
  • FMEA Investigations
  • Regulatory Auditing
  • Emergency Response Team Coordinator (CPR, Hazmat)
  • Provide oversight for regulatory compliance of vendors who pick up hazardous waste.
  • Perform sampling activities, inspections and maintain reports to ensure compliance with the facility's Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan.
  • Work with EHS Manager and EHS Engineer to ensure compliance with environmental activities during operation.
  • Perform monthly inspections of eyewash stations, fire hose stations and fire control valves.
  • Understands chemical reactions and safety requirements. Knows EPA requirements for storing, dumping, handling, and/or reporting of chemicals.
  • Understands the uses of chemicals in treating water and/or other systems
  • Training required in RCRA, D.O.T., HazWoper, lock out/tag out, Hazardous Energy, confined space, forklift, scissor lifts, etc.
  • Assist with inspections, SPCC, SWPP, 5S, etc.
  • Participation in the Emergency Response Team and other EHS program committees as required
  • Assist in the site's Health and Safety programs and initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned
