Behavior Consultant/Mobile Therapist - Licensed Pittsburgh, PA (Full-Time) (Personal Services)

Job Description
Intensive Behavioral Health Services (IBHS) provide behavioral health treatment to children up to age 21 who have a current DSM or ICD mental health diagnosis and require behavioral support. The services use professional staff and natural supports to create a network of support around an identified child and their family. Services can be rendered in a child's home, community or school location dependent upon the child and family's needs.
REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Individuals who provide individual services as Licensed Behavior Consultant/Mobile Therapists shall meet one of the following:
    • Licensed psychologist, professional counselor, marriage and family therapist, clinical social worker; OR
    • Licensed social worker or behavior specialist AND a mental health service graduate degree and practicum
  2. Must have access to the audio / visual / verbal technology to provide supervision for the clients and to perform essential job functions
  3. Must complete and pass agency Crisis/Physical Intervention Training - Modified.
  4. Must possess the emotional competence to perform essential job functions
  5. Ability to work as a team member
  6. Ability to accept and provide supervision
  7. Ability to adjust hours to job requirements including evenings and weekends.
  8. Ability to work independently
  9. Must possess good written and verbal communication skills
  10. Must have access to a telephone.
  11. Must possess valid driver's license with acceptable driving record and transportation
  12. Must be eligible for PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse History Clearance, FBI Clearance, Arrest / Conviction Report and Certification Form, and Act 168 forms.
  13. Must be able to identify with the agency Mission Statement and support the agency's core values.

All licenses must be valid and meet requirements in accordance with Pennsylvania Department of State.

All degrees and coursework must be from an accredited program and/or university or college in accordance with Policy Clarification 02-11 dated June 9, 2010, and be conferred by the university or college.

POSITION SPECIFIC CORE COMPETENCIES:

  • Develop behavior modification programs for each assigned child.
  • Conduct psychosocial and behavioral assessments and report to team members.
  • Act as a consultant with team members involved with service provision for client.
  • Participate in program development and required trainings and workshops as requested.
  • Instruct and support parents in implementing behavior modification programs, including empathic responses and logical consequences.
  • Provide oversight and training to BHT as needed regarding delivery of services.
  • Must meet agency productivity standards.
  • Provide individual family therapy to children/adolescents/families on caseload at a frequency specified in the Comprehensive Treatment Plan.
  • Complete documentation of interventions in the form of progress notes in the format and time constraints as required. 
  • Gain input on child and family from other professional and paraprofessional sources as appropriate, (schools, institutions, hospitals, etc.).
  • Attend and participate in supervision, case consultations, clinical teams, team meetings, master treatment planning meetings and interagency meetings as scheduled and appropriate and supply all necessary reports.
