The Impact You'll Make in this Role
As an R&D Services Procurement Coordinator you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Procure, and coordinate/lead procuring 3rd party goods/services for Solventum R&D as effectively as possible. Choose among Solventum Sourcing & Procurement processes and tools to meet this goal
  • Learn & develop expertise in the "PO lifecycle" at Solventum, Solventum's Sourcing processes, roles of Solventum sourcing personnel such as Buyers, Accounts Payable, Global Business Services, Source-to-pay and Shopping Cart creators
  • Develop expertise in, and enable SAP Source-to-pay process deployment, capabilities, training, etc. There will be ample opportunities for training in both the existing SAP system and the future SAP system. This SAP work includes learning of changes, testing, training, hypercare, and global operations support. Navigate this new world and understand who to go to with and how to resolve problems and issues that might be coming down the line
  • Develop expertise quickly to help coordinate R&D Services operations for purchasing goods & services from 3rd party vendors. Participate in planning distribution of workload for team
  • Develop and lead improvements and/or solutions to work processes and tools
  • Provide input to management that may impact how financial resources are generated or spent
  • Coach team during a project or train/mentor new employees in the above area. Help determine priorities, distribution of responsibilities, or timetables for work group to ensure success. May provide input on performance of team members
  • Help team with expertise, advice, or focus, as needed. Also help similar teams in other Solventum businesses
  • Monitor & escalate issues such as delays due to process breakdowns, communication gaps, and invoice discrepancies. Handle or escalate these for resolution
  • Collaborate with team to plan & maintain workflow tools such as SharePoint sites & PowerApp Forms to support necessary business processes
  • Support the greater Solventum procurement community. All the Solventum STP SAP Users depend on someone to help troubleshoot difficult issues
  • Work with team toward Lab Stockroom planning, spend/cycle counts, chargeback to Divisions, downsizing/consolidation and moves
  • Monitor spending for certain areas and ensure all purchases for those areas go through our system to ensure compliance
  • Work tasks are likely to encompass concepts within multiple disciplines/practices which may include more than one department/location.
  • Purchases goods and services from vendors; May include maintaining certain annual purchase orders. Oversee the purchase order to completion, full "PO life-cycle". This includes monitoring relevant reports
  • Help establish alternative Sources of Supply (SOS) if needed. May assist and/or influence others in selecting sources
  • Help develop strategy for & manage Chargebacks to various departments for services our group provides
  • Work with supplier to determine root cause of issues such as purchase order and/or payment issues; develop and implement issue and process solutions
  • Initiate and lead projects if necessary
  • Manage new Customer (Solventum) set with vendors
  • Other Sourcing/Procurement and department related activities as required

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree or higher AND (4) four years experience deploying and/or maintaining business systems and processes for customers. Experience running procurement or stockroom operations in a private, public, government or military environment

OR

High School Diploma/GED from AND (8) eight years of experience deploying and/or maintaining business systems and processes for customers. Experience running procurement or stockroom operations in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Customer Service experience
  • Sourcing, Procurement experience
  • Proven ability to come into a new area, learn, and deliver needed business results
  • Experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning software such as SAP, Oracle, or PeopleSoft. Or, experience working with requirements gathering, customizing, and installing large software packages to meet business needs
  • Experience with SAP payment, sourcing, or Source-to-pay
  • Experience with 3M/Solventum SAP Source-to-pay
  • Ability to stay organized and flexible in the context of deadlines
  • Ability to pay attention to detail and work while maintaining confidentiality
  • Proven success working in a team environment and creating a positive atmosphere
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook and ability to learn additional programs

Work location: Hybrid-Minnesota, United States

Travel: May include up to 10%[domestic/international]

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $106,331 - $129,960, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience. In addition, this position may be eligible for a range of benefits (e.g., Medical, Dental & Vision, Health Savings Accounts, Health Care & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences and Retirement Benefits, etc.).
