Job Description

Overview:

The Plant Supervisor manages the overall plant operations on each shift as the single point of contact for a single unit PRB (western coal) fired power plant to ensure the safe, reliable, and environmentally compliant production of bulk electrical energy. This position is also responsible for providing leadership, supervision and direction of power plant multi-skilled crews, and responsible for prioritizing and scheduling manpower, plant equipment and materials in the most efficient and cost-effective manner. This role will pay between $79,800 to $125,700 per hour/annually depending upon skills and experience. Role is also eligible for bonus, profit sharing and benefits for the employee and their eligible dependents.

Responsibilities:

• Supporting all aspects of the day–to-day operation and maintenance of a generating station
• Accountability can include supervising and directing multi-skill production and maintenance support personnel to achieve maximum reliable and safe operation of the generating units
• Effectively manage employee/labor relation in accordance with company policies and labor agreements where applicable
• Ensure and monitor safety and environmental compliance, regulatory compliance, administrative and procedural compliance, and documentation
• Assist in the coordination and implementation of special projects
• Supervisor may be asked to respond to emergency call out situations and assist in trouble shooting of system problems
• Interface frequently with outside vendors and contractors
• Planning and Scheduling for plant site
• Perform other tasks as assigned

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
• 5-7 years of power generation plant experience - Preferred
• Experience with operations and maintenance at a power plant particularly control operator experience on a unit with a drum boiler- Preferred
• Technical background or Instrumentation and Control background -Preferred
• Must have Power generation plant supervision, leadership, communication, problem solving and decision making skills.
• Good computer skills using Word, Excel, and Outlook-Preferred
• Experience in computer maintenance management systems and an understanding of PMMS and/or Maximo programs-Preferred
