Job Description

The Counsel role will split time providing legal counsel to ESIS, Inc., a Chubb company, and to Chubb Global Casualty with respect to contract language, regulatory questions, industry trends and marketing/distribution strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Counsel the business on a wide range of insurance and contractual matters
  • Draft and negotiate Risk Management Service Agreements, new client proposals, and consulting agreements on behalf of ESIS.
  • Draft and negotiate Collateral Agreements, Assumption Agreements, Novation Agreements and Notices of Election on behalf of Chubb Global Casualty;
  • Develop, draft, review and revise new and existing insurance products, as well as endorsements, contracts, marketing materials and other ancillary documents associated with such policies.
  • Collaborate with Compliance professionals to counsel the business on regulatory issues and assist in responding to regulatory criticisms, complaints, and exams;
  • Research and draft memoranda on relevant insurance, risk management, and contractual issues.
  • Work on special projects as assigned by North American Legal & Compliance management.
Qualifications:
  • Law degree with at least 5 years of experience working in insurance law.
  • Experience in with collateral agreements and/or laws governing third-party administrators is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand the insurance industry, client needs, and business goals and provide sound consultation and achieve desired results.
  • Have strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with a broad spectrum of constituencies.
  • Have a proven track record of results achievement, collaboration, teamwork, problem solving, and negotiation skills.
Education:
Juris Doctor and Bar admission required.
