IT Support Specialist (Architecture)

The IT support specialist's role is to provide expert technical support and training to staff and to increase productivity by ensuring corporate IT systems are operating efficiently. This role will also include some systems administration tasks such as onboarding/off-Boarding, tracking company assets, privilege assignment, restoring data, AD user and security group management, and other support related administrative tasks. In addition to working on task related issues, this individual will assist the IT Infrastructure team in completing projects and objectives that benefit the entire organization.
This person will be located at the Manufacturing facility and will also assist with IT issue related to plant operations. This will include troubleshooting and configuring handheld and mounted terminals/scanners, wireless access, warehouse operations, picking systems, PLC and other related equipment and processes.
Responsibilities:
Fielding service requests using IT help desk ticketing systems
Provide hardware and software training for staff
Assist Plant engineering with IT issues related to controls systems and Operational Technology
Assist with troubleshooting and configuration of equipment in the manufacturing facility and warehouse/DC.
Upgrade hardware and software on PCs and other Enterprise Systems
Assist in operation of enterprise infrastructure systems: Backup, Virtualization, print services, anti-virus, Active Directory, Citrix, MS365.
Assist in employee onboarding/offboarding: Image and deploy PCs, Mailboxes, security group assignment, VPN access, application access, terminations.
Troubleshoot connectivity and application access issues for employees on premises and remote
Develop and maintain documentation for internal processes.
Work with IT team to escalate and resolve all issues.
Experience, Skills, Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
3- 5 years of relevant experience required
In-depth knowledge of computers, hardware, software, operating systems, and networks
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
Working knowledge of MS active directory (AD) ability create and modify objects
Experience in documenting processes and monitoring the performance of systems (interpreting metrics)
Knowledge of data base maintenance and system security.
Knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
Experience with PC imaging platform such as Microsoft MDT or SCCM
Experience deploying patches and fixes to PCs, Servers, and appliances.
Physical Demand Characteristics: Sedentary – Lifts 50 lbs. or less infrequently. Sits, bends, stands, walks, reaches over head and stoops frequently. May push/pull.
