If you are an ENGINEERING professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our SIDNEY, OHIO location as SUPPLIER QUALITY ENGINEER for Precision Machining (crankshafts) and small turned parts. In this role you will work with support supplied parts from concept/design through PPAP approval/launch for product engineering programs and supplier changes. Conduct process and system audits at new or existing suppliers to identify continuous improvement opportunities for price, delivery, and quality. Have a wide base of knowledge with appropriate time management skills to balance short-term tactical activities while in parallel executing long-term strategic goals. Lead quarterly business reviews and yearly task force meetings to review commodity past performance and future goals. Support Global Supplier Quality metrics along with ISO and departmental policies/procedures
AS A SUPPLIER QUALITY ENGINEER, YOU WILL:
Use quality tools daily such as APQP, PPAP, Gage R&R, GD&T, Gage Correlation, Gage Certification, Statistical Tools, Control Plans, Auditing Quality Systems, RC/CA, FMEA & various problem-solving techniques.
Maintain and improve Supplier PPM's year over year for existing supply base and provide monthly dashboards to management.
Utilize knowledge of precision machining processes with single-digit micron tolerances and measurement strategies including contact gaging and 3D part scanning.
Be an active and competent participant in process development activities during supplier reviews of tooling, fixture, and gage evaluations.
Apply experience with precision machining features impacted by feeds and speed settings.
Participate in supplier development activities to support Global Emerson plans and goals.
Utilize effective verbal and written communication skills across multiple levels of management at Emerson and suppliers.
Travel 10 - 20% to supplier sites for quality audits and process reviews including occasional International trips.
WHO YOU ARE:
You build relationships that encourage collaboration with internal stakeholders and external suppliers. You take initiatives and are willing to monitor & manage supplier quality performance. You understand Emerson's compressor business, to keep suppliers informed and make timely decisions that protect our compressor plants from quality spills. You are curious and attentive to learning opportunities and view them as building blocks for acquiring new knowledge and additional skill sets.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Bachelor's degree with 1 year of relevant work experience or equivalent combination (Co-op experience may be considered)
Ability to travel up to 20%.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Metallurgical Engineering and 5+ years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination.
Experience working in a medium to high volume manufacturing environment with specific knowledge in precision machining and work holding fixtures.
Quality certifications in ASQ (CSQP, CQA, CQE, CQM).
Experience performing supplier quality risk assessments and special process audits
Quality practitioner using Lean/6 Sigma methodologies.
Knowledge of best practices for precision machining.

The newly renovated Sidney campus has 1M square feet of manufacturing floor with an additional 120k square feet of leading-edge lab facilities.
