Human Resources Generalist (Finance)



The Maintenance Group is seeking an enthusiastic HR Generalist to join our team in Kona, Hawaii. The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for weekly payroll, HR compliance, recruiting, and employee advocacy. This position interfaces with employees, managers within the organization, candidates, administrative team, and Partner and Corporate offices.

The successful candidate for this role will have a track record that can drive a broad range of human resources strategies in support of business objectives and human resource initiatives. The position requires a passionate, engaged, proactive, results-oriented, self-starter with the ability to seek positive outcomes. Demonstrated ability to positively influence others, particularly in the areas of consistent communication, attention to details, employee advocacy, adherence with policy, procedures, and guidelines, supporting a culture respect, and a desire for continuous learning and growth, are keys to success.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Implements, communicates, and supports corporate initiatives surrounding compliance, benefit changes, policy updates and events.Leads recruiting efforts for the organization. Finds new opportunities to recruit qualified candidates in an unprecedented labor market.Leads and recommends best practices to support The Maintenance Group's goal of employer of choice.Visit job sites and crews monthly on a rotational basis.Assist management with performance concerns, disciplinary action, and conflict management issues. Counsel managers and employees consistent with the company policies/practices, legal considerations, etc. and facilitate resolution of employee relations issues.Assist employees with workforce issues by listening empathetically to concerns, managing expectations, and handling the case in a sensitive manner.Analyze exit interviews, summarize findings, and discuss trends and concerns with senior management.Review eligibility and monitor employee leave of absence. Ensure FMLA leaves run concurrently with Workers' Comp. or State Disability Leave. Provide consistent interactive process with employees throughout their leave of absence.Maintain an attitude and philosophy consistent with the company and standards.Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and updated technologies in human resources, compliance, and employment law.Perform other related duties as assigned.
Duties/Tasks:
Perform day-to-day tasks such as payroll, benefits, onboarding, and terminations.Explain company benefit programs such as medical, insurance, retirement, and savings plans, and enroll workers in specified programs.Facilitate candidate prescreening and interview dates, with reviewing resumes, and following up with candidates.Assist with new hire orientation and provide a welcoming experience for new hires.Compile, update, and maintain employee records.Employee relations support.Respond to frequently asked questions from employees related to standard HR policies and processes, referring to and/or collaborating on more complex questions/situations.Lead creative and tenacious recruiting efforts, hosting and participating in Job Fairs and other recruiting initiatives.Supply procurement, support the Aspire month end close process, support the financial month end close process, support accounting reconciliation projects, and are responsible for branch errands.Administrative support to Branch Manager.Assist with special projects and administrative duties.
