Principal Financial Economist/Senior Financial Economist (Finance)
The ideal candidate will serve as a subject matter expert and possibly a team lead on the credit risk modeling of banks' retail portfolios including credit cards, auto loans, mortgages, and home equity lines of credit. The candidate will participate in Department efforts to exert policy leadership in the supervisory community, and lead multiple initiatives supporting RADAR's overall risk assessment, data analysis and research strategy. The candidate will also have the opportunity to develop his/her own research agenda directed towards research on consumer credit and markets, bank risk, supervision and regulation of financial institutions and markets, and regulatory policies pertaining to these matters.
Candidates with a good understanding of one or more areas including credit card, auto loan and leases, mortgages, and other consumer credit are strongly preferred. Applicants with a background in areas such as econometrics, applied micro-economics, real estate economics, statistics, fixed income analysis, empirical finance and banking, and are interested in conducting applied research are also preferred. Ideal applicants will have a completed PhD and at least three years of quantitative experience. Management experience is a plus.
Applicants for employment also must be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, or hold a permanent resident/green card with intent to become a U.S. Citizen.
