Job Description
Evaluates and manages new strategic business opportunities, initiatives and Acquisition Programs. Oversees market analysis, monitors competitive activity, and identifies customer needs. Provides leadership in the planning, designing, due diligence, and implementing of strategic business objectives. Defines vision, strategies, and tactics. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for managing current customers and programs as well as developing new customers and markets and increasing the company's sales and market share of FLIR's optical component products in North America. Must support existing customer programs for meeting contractual milestones and ensuring complete customer satisfaction. Develop and execute pursuit strategies for the Tactical Solutions Precision Optics/Assemblies and Reticles based products in the territory. Lead the proposal process for all pursuits within Government Prime, sub-prime and Commercial business entities. Manage existing customers and work to anticipate future customer requirements and needs.
Promote, Develop and Conclude the sales of FLIR Systems' Tactical Solutions Precision Optics Products and Technology into the territory
Manage the sales process with an emphasis on predictable growth and success in programmatic business development Support on-going programs in the territory with weekly meetings and reporting. Timely Reporting of Sales Forecasts and Activities
Lead cross functional teams in the proposal process.
Identify prospective business opportunity with synergistic capabilities to add value to FLIR's product line as well as integrate FLIR's products into complete mission solutions.
Travel up to 40% in the territory to complete the sales objectives (~80 to 100 travel days) Travel to support trade shows, customer demonstrations and other business development activities in a cost effective manner consistent with company policy and under budget..
Develop intelligence on competitors in the marketplace and create strategy to lead and win.
Host visitors to FLIR Systems facilities in Oregon and Pennsylvania
Meet or Exceed Revenue Forecast for Region
Job Qualifications / Experience Required:
We will only consider candidates for this role that have prior work experience in Optics manufacturing/engineering andhave anengineering/technical background.
In addition, candidates must be located near one of two FLIR facilities (Wilsonville, Oregon or Freeport, PA) or able to relocate to one of those areas. We are unable to offer relocation assistance for this role.
In addition, we desire 10 years+ of Strategic Selling and Program Management with a strong emphasis on Government sales and Government (primarily military and paramilitary) and major Commercial customers in North America for Precision Optics/Assemblies and Reticles based products.
Ability to work independently as well as manage a small team of people. Ability to respond to RFQ/RFP and preparation of complicated proposals and presentations. Strong and persuasive writing skills.
College Degree Required - Bachelor's or Master's Preferred (Optics/Engineering/Physics) - Optics Industry background preferred as well as Program Management certification.
Experience in photolithography process development and engineering or IR precision optics manufacturing is a plus. A minimum of 10 years' experience in program or project management, preferably in optics, the infrared, Reticles or aerospace market is desired.
Technically adept and able to make complicated presentations and briefings to convey simple messages to win key selling
accounts - Computer proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint, etc.
Ability to multi-task and support the Manager, Peers and sub-ordinates
