System Administrator (Information Technology)



Nystrom & Associates is hiring a System Administrator! The System Administrator will administer and champion the use of the Microsoft 365 platform across all business units. In this role you will be responsible for Microsoft 365 applications and collaborating with the user community on these applications by gathering business requirements, implementing solutions, and providing ongoing support. You will also be responsible for implementing and maintaining our Microsoft Azure environment including Microsoft Entra ID, Single Sign on, and infrastructure already inside of this environment.

Job Duties:
Systems Maintenance & Troubleshooting

Administers, monitors, and maintains all application, servers, and storage to ensure continuous 24x7 availability, reliability, and optimal production performance
Maintains Nystrom Microsoft Office 365 suite of applications including office web apps, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Power BI, and Exchange Online, as well as business applications
Administrate Azure Entra ID, and Data warehouse hosted in Microsoft Azure
Conducts data backup and ensures integrity and recovery
Installs, configures, and upgrades operating systems and server software
Works with multiple teams to resolve technical issues
Works effectively under the supervision of Senior System Administrators
Assist with implement and manage IT Projects

Design
1. Assist Sr System administrator to design solutions based on customer requirements and best practices
2. Assist Sr system administrator to lead the successful deployment of I.T. projects including but not limited to the installation, refresh and/or upgrade of Windows servers, Azure workloads, virtualized environments, disaster recovery systems and/or processes, storage systems
3. Provides tactical and strategic input on system planning
4. Evaluates and recommends hardware and software products
5. Improve systems to stay ahead or aligned with organizational growth

Department Support
1. Maintains documentation on system administration standards, best practices, and quality improvements, ensuring that Systems Administration processes, procedures, and documentation remain up-to-date and consistent with current technologies
2. Monitors systems and routine maintenance
3. Maintains licenses and vendor relationships
4. Participate in helpdesk escalation to ensure we are meeting our SLA's.
5. Participates in after-hours support for production environment, including on-call support rotation. This will include supporting upgrades or troubleshooting activities that need to take place outside of business hours. This on call after hours rotations will be one week at a time, every four weeks. (This is low volume)

Completes other tasks and duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Associate degree with 2+ years of experience in a client server environment
2+ years of experience in the duties of this role
Must have in-depth and strong working knowledge of networking concepts, Windows IIS, web technologies and system security
Familiarity with IT asset management (SnipeIT), incident management, and cloud security platforms.
Advanced Windows Server experience
Must have knowledge in the following areas: Microsoft server products, Office 365, Teams, SharePoint, DNS, Entra ID, SSO, Active Directory, Windows Server, Azure Workloads, DNS, DHCP, MFA, Exchange Online, Vmware
Must have server hardware knowledge, preferably Dell
Hands on experience using the Azure Administration portal and moving on premise workloads to Azure or other cloud services
Must have VMware and Azure knowledge
Valid driver's license and proof of current insurance
Knowledge of Intune and mobile device management

Soft Skills Requirements: We are looking for a candidate that is willing to learn and eager to learn in this role
