Senior Manufacturing Accountant (Coeur d'Alene) (Personal Services)



JOB SUMMARY:

The Manufacturing Senior Accountant reports to the Manufacturing Finance Manager.  The Manufacturing Senior Accountant will prepare monthly journal entries, reconciliations, and assist with the preparation of consolidated financial reports.  The Manufacturing Senior Accountant will actively participate in budget and forecast development.  The Manufacturing Senior Accountant will prepare budget/forecast to actual comparison. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Prepare detail monthly journal entries for logs and lumber inventory adjustments, adhering to close schedule and checklist.
  • Prepare month end accrual journal entries.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly internal site profit and loss reporting, comparing actual results to budget and forecast.
  • Analyze budget/forecast to actual profit and loss variances, providing detailed variance explanations.
  • Generate monthly capital reporting, comparing budget and actual cost by project.
  • Assist with developing incremental cash flow comparisons for expansion capital projects.
  • Provide weekly production cost estimates, comparing estimates to budgets/forecast.
  • Participate in weekly and monthly operations cost review meetings.
  • Quarterly, observe in lumber and log cycle counts.
  • Partner with Finance Managers and Senior accounts to develop consistent manufacturing accountant processes and procedures.
  • Prepare government surveys and compliance reporting.
  • Assists with preparing annual budget and forecasts.
  • The listed items may not be the only duties performed in this position - there will be other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Able to deal professionally, courteously, and tactfully with the public and coworkers
  • Valid Driver's License for business travel
  • Ability to pass a drug, physical, and background check

Physical Requirements:
Move safely, quickly, and perform duties with repetitious movement. Sit and/or stand for shift, reach with hands and arms, stoop, squat, twist, push and pull, maintain balance, bend at the waist, kneel, walk varying distances, and climb stairs. Must be able to tolerate all weather elements, loud conditions, vibrations and airborne particles (sawdust).
