Global Technology Finance | Associate Manager, Planning & Analysis (Finance)

Prudential is seeking a highly motivated, resourceful, and skilled individual for the role of Associate Manager, Planning and Analysis within the Global Technology Finance Organization. The Global Technology function within Prudential is on a multi-year, multi-phase journey to modernize our technology, which will empower Prudential's customers, advisors, and employees with tech-forward and data-enabled experiences that deliver meaningful, differentiated outcomes.   In support of that journey, the Associate Manager will report to the Vice President, Planning and Analysis of the Global Technology Finance Organization. This is a key position that supports the Global Technology organization in developing a consolidated view of technology spending, streamlining frameworks, policies, and principles, and supporting key priorities that cut across the organization.  

This individual will provide meaningful, insightful, and actionable analytics on investments in technology for the US Businesses and Corporate functions.  This will entail the development of a multi-year forecast projection of operational, strategic, and future of work investments in technology for the Global Technology organization, the reporting of technology spending and outcomes against plans and business requirements, and clear and crisp articulation of opportunities, risks, and challenges to Global Technology Plans. 

Primary Responsibilities Include:  

  • Support the P&A and monthly financial reporting functions for the Global Technology Finance USIR organization 
  • Assist in the development of the multi-year Global Technology budget/forecast for the USIR business
  • Assist in the development of insightful business plans and analytics to drive decision-making and facilitate management actions, as appropriate
  • Support the identification of and drive technology expense efficiencies
  • Resolve technology and business partner inquiries related to technology spend
  • Assist in producing in-depth understanding of expense drivers, accounting for capitalization of technology assets, key performance indicators, AOI, GAAP and STAT earnings, cash flows, balance sheet and capital
  • Leadership of a team with a focus on talent development
  • Support key technology processes, including procurement and expense allocations/chargebacks for the USIR Technology
  • Collaboration across multi-functional teams in the organization to support strategic objectives for USIR Technology initiatives
  • Assist in the development of management presentations to ensure key messages are captured and action steps are well defined to enable swift decision-making
  • Willingness to roll up sleeves and navigate through areas that may not be in direct line of responsibility to transform strategy into action

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field, with 3 – 7 years of relevant experience
  • Advanced degree, MBA or CPA preferred
  • Prior experience in Planning and Business Analysis required
  • Strong Microsoft Suite skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).  PowerBI and Tableau experience is a plus.
  • Experienced leader with ability to develop talent
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to deliver quality support to technology, finance and business partners 
  • Discretion to deal with confidential information
  • Excellent analytical skills with strong ability to problem solve and proactively improve upon existing processes
  • Agile and organized, structure-oriented individual with ability to appropriately prioritize and juggle many competing deliverables
  • Ability to identify issues, provide recommendations, and communicate key issues at the right level at the right time 
  • Sense of urgency – Priorities may require quick turn-around for senior preview and presentations
  • Flexibility and Adaptability– This role may evolve over time and the successful candidate will need to demonstrate flexibility and ability to pivot to support the success of the Global Technology organization and the Finance team
