Human Resource Generalist - Firm Services (Project Management)



HORNE LLP, one of the largest accounting and consulting firms in the Southeast, is seeking a Human Resource Generalist. The Human Resource Generalist will perform daily functions related to updating the HRIS system with employee changes, administering benefit programs and leaves of absence, and enforcing company policies and practices.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Life Events process in the HRIS system including inquiries from employees.
  • Handle employment and benefits-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate HR staff.
  • Perform routine tasks required to update HRIS system for all team member changes including status, compensation and jobs.
  • Provide support to administer and execute human resource programs including, but not limited to, benefits and company policies.
  • Serve as backup for onboarding and off-boarding employees including employee eligibility verifications.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the firm's HRIS (UltiPro) and performance management systems (Reflektive).

Education and Experience:

  • At least two to four years of human resources experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree (Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field) or equivalent years of experience preferred.
  • SHRM-CP a plus.
