Document and manage end-to-end manufacturing processes to drive improvements in overall productivity, efficiency, cycle time and waste reduction in all Production operations. Define and execute the key elements necessary for continued sustainable improvements in all phases of manufacturing utilizing applicable methodologies, Lean Manufacturing principles, and best practices in conjunction with, and with the support of, the Manufacturing Staff. Provide guidance to others to apply and implement operational excellence tools to solve problems and work towards production goals.
Professional Qualifications
Education
Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering or Biological Systems Engineering is preferred, or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, or related technical field. Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six-Sigma is desired, but not required.
Experience
Minimum 3 years in a manufacturing environment with general knowledge of production planning, scheduling, and associated labor and equipment capacity assessment.
Experience in concept and application of Manufacturing Process methods and practices.
Experience in concept and application of Lean Manufacturing practices and Continuous Improvement methodology.
Experience with ERP modules. Specific experience with Oracle NetSuite is desired, but not required.

Must be proficient in various desktop applications, including advanced skills in Excel as used for tracking production performance, statistical analysis, and general data analysis.

Position Responsibilities
Specific:
Develop and maintain a Manufacturing Process Strategic Plan for system, end-to-end workflow, and operational improvements. Document all comprehensive manufacturing processes in a standardized format. Incorporate key/critical elements of Lean Manufacturing and other best practices.
Participate on operational improvement project teams.
Analyze current practices and implement improvements to reduce the total process cycle time and improve efficiencies in Manufacturing. Coordinate improvements with Manufacturing Management staff.
Evaluate Bill of Material structure and Bill of Operations workflow for existing and new products. Recommend and implement changes to restructure both for process optimization.
Evaluate various assembly methods and manufacturing approaches. Design, recommend, and implement improvements.
Assess Manufacturing Personnel exposure and risk to repetitive motion injuries, fatigue, and unavoidable delays. Address occupational safety and health issues present in the Manufacturing operation.
Identify and implement cost-saving approaches in the Assembly and Manufacturing processes.
Evaluate task content of manufacturing operations in accordance with Assembly Plans and/or Bills of Operation using Industrial Engineering methods (Time Study Analysis, Work Sampling, etc.). Utilize self-timing methods by Manufacturing Employees as appropriate. Assess opportunities for improvement and integration.
Evaluate equipment, work cell, and storage layout to optimize and streamline production flow and material handling.
Participate on new Product Development Teams to streamline the transition of engineering designs to Manufacturing.
Participate on Oracle NetSuite ERP Implementation Team to observe, document, and transfer manufacturing processes into new ERP system.
