Role description:
As a Information Security Intern, you will assist with multiple security compliance related projects and tasks, including tracking Information Security Laws & Regulations, certifications to information security standards, security compliance audits, client related security assessments. Location is open - job is 100% remote, with strong preference for intern in Eastern Time Zone. Anticipated 10-15 hours/week.
Role accountabilities:
Assist with the creation of an information security laws & regulations database. Research identified laws & regulations and determine steps required by company for compliance.
Assist with revision of information security policies, procedures to safeguard company information.
Assist with audits and client security assessments.
Assist with pursuit of ISO 27001 or similar certifications
Interface with fellow team members on items related to laws & regulations, compliance, security controls related to certifications, etc.
Report to management concerns of risk and other security exposures in course of work.
Drive continuous improvement through trend analysis reporting and metrics for new laws & regulations.
Qualifications & Experience:
0-1+ years of relevant professional experience
Working toward Bachelor's or University Degree in Information Security or Information Technology, or related field
Works with integrity and ethically
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Flexibility to handle various tasks as needed
Excellent written & oral communication skills
