Merchandise Processor (Project Management)
Duties and Responsibilities
Unloads container, sort and grade goods into appropriate bins by quality specificationsInspects, sorts, grades, and assigns prices or other actions needed to donated itemsPrepare items for sale by hanging clothing, cleaning items, and bagging items that need to be kept togetherTags, marks, and/or codes items selected for sale according to designated prices and type of merchandiseTallies amount and/or prices of processed itemsMust be able to meet production goals in a timely fashion while maintaining a set of standard of practiceTransports items to and from the sales floor, and places items on shelves, in bins or on racksFace shelves, racks, and bins according to display standardsMaintains cleanliness and organization of retail environment including the sales floor when neededComplies with all standards and safety regulationsExemplifies quality customer serviceAttends meetings and training sessions as requiredMay be trained and certified in operating equipment

Qualifications
Must be 18 years of age or olderAble to communicate effectivelyAbility to smell odors, visualize, and feel greasy or unusual textures (stains, discoloration, flaws, tears, missing or broken pieces)Strategic innovative thinking, solid judgement, and problem solving skillsAbility to obtain certification for forklift and/or pallet jack operationMust be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and HolidaysMust be able to pass a background and drug screenAble to perform functions with or without special accommodation
Working conditions
Thrift retail and warehouse environmentMay be exposed to dust, debris, animal hair, and any number of allergensItems donated may be textile, glass wares, electronics, books, media, furniture, plastics or any variation.Consistently moderate noise levelTolerance of extreme changes in temperature and humidity
