Packing Production Supervisor
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the daily operations and team performance.
Responsible for staffing execution including skill and capability development of an 40+ technician workforce, performance management, and employee morale. Coordinates with the education and training technician to ensure skills are developed in a timely manner.
Responsible for team's development to meet safety, quality, reliability and zero loss expectations.
Participates in annual technician performance appraisals.
Coach Team Leaders and hold them accountable for completing Semi-annual 1:1s with their team members.
Manages quality and other issues that arise; determine root cause for issues and work with process engineers, maintenance manager, and zone coordinators to mitigate machine issues or ensure resolution of the people issues.
Customer of the team results reviews.
Works with the supply chain group and/or production planning on issues regarding production and attends weekly production planning meeting to communicate downtime requests.
Attends DDS and periodically audits team meetings.
Responsible for supervising and coaching the packaging teams to ensure performance targets are met and guidelines and policies are adhered to
Excellent understanding of overall packing flow including all inputs, outputs, and material handling
Identify and eliminate losses from the operation using proficy or other tools
Manage personnel issues, i.e., ADP for timecard approval, manages overtime, vacation planning, staffing, temporary employee staffing, training plans, conflict resolution, and administer discipline.
Resolves conflicts by developing persuasive ideas and solutions
Leads and communicates troubleshooting efforts between all departments when issues arise
Works with operating teams to identify and drive out production losses and improve throughput

SELECTION CRITERIA
Education
Bachelor's degree is required
A technical degree or equivalent work experience is preferred
Experience
Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience is required
Experience leading, teaching or managing others effectively is preferred
Other
Ability to work off-shifts as needed is required
Ability to relocate in the future for other company opportunities is preferred
Understanding of packaging equipment and its key components is preferred
Understanding of good manufacturing practices and procedures is preferred
Good computer skills including familiarity with proficy
Excellent organizational skills
Able to prioritize work in a high demand work environment and continually focus on multiple tasks at hand
Self-motivated and able to motivate others
Demonstrated ability to work a problem from problem statement development through root cause identification and systemic corrective action implementation
