Equity Now Human Resources Generalist / Manager (Finance)
Monitor and maintain all employee data and HR documentation, including (but not limited to) in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), personnel files, leave, and pay to ensure accurate information is available to all managers and other HR users.
Process payroll and payroll-related activities for the organization.
Recruit Legends Charter School teachers, Legends Fellows, Equity Now employees, Legends EdVentures employees.
Lead the New Hire Orientation and onboarding process for Legends Charter School teachers, Legends Fellows, Equity Now Employees, Legends EdVentures employees, including HR operational and employment requirements of local jurisdictions and laws.
Assist with company benefit administration to include enrollment forms, plan questions, claims resolution, and open enrollment.
Assist in managing workers' compensation injury claims. File reports with the insurance provider, maintain accident information and monitor progress.
Support leaders across the business to contribute to and achieve their organization's goals through key people initiatives.
Partner with key stakeholders to improve operational performance by identifying areas of opportunity and facilitating necessary change initiatives.
Engage leaders in the succession planning process by helping to identify talent, support development opportunities, and establish a strong pipeline for business continuity and growth.
Provide training sessions on key HR initiatives for employees and managers, as required.
Provide employees and managers with day-to-day guidance on employment law, terms and conditions, and policies and procedures in order to resolve and minimize problems and ensure a consistent and fair approach.
Advise managers in formal employee relations matters, such as attending disciplinary and grievance hearings, ensuring consistency in the adoption of disciplinary and grievance procedures.
Manage the performance issues across the business by developing and implementing performance improvement plans when required and providing guidance to managers.
Contribute to the development of policies and procedures, updating policies in line with the HR strategy, best practice, and employment law requirements, including statutory and regulatory changes.
Research and leverage HR best practices to achieve business results. Effectively leverage data and analytics to provide insights that guide decision-making and provide proactive HR solutions.
Promote HR programs, practices, and initiatives to the business.
Implement, monitor, and contribute to HR projects.
Implement employee engagement activities and continuously strive to improve and enhance the employee experience.
Conduct exit interviews, analyze data for trends and make recommendations for change.
Undertake other duties or tasks that may be allocated as appropriate to the role.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Bachelor's degree in HR/business or related field preferred
Previous Human Resources or Office Management experience preferred.
Ability to work independently with little supervision required.
Ability to remain calm while working under pressure in a busy environment.
Ability to work within a timeframe of standard policies and procedures.
Ability to maintain confidentiality related to sensitive company and employee information.
Thorough knowledge of HR principles and federal/local regulations
Excellent ability to multi-task and prioritize in a busy, fast-growth environment.
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is essential.

Preferred Qualifications
HR Professional Certification such as CIPD level 5 or SHRM-CP
