Talent Acquisition Specialist (Recruiter) (Human Resources)



Do you have a passion for sourcing high performance applicants? The Doe Run Company is seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to deliver recruiting success throughout the organization by presenting qualified candidates to hiring managers in a timely manner.  The Specialist will lead programs that attract, diversify, and retain top talent.  This position will be based out of the Corporate Office in Maryland Heights, MO.

Responsibilities:

  • Leverage market research and sourcing best practices to develop and execute robust sourcing and networking strategies in order to attract and engage qualified talent pools of external candidates. Enhance our employment brand and create meaningful first and lasting positive impressions by demonstrating the company culture and values. Manage and facilitate presence at career fairs, local university events, community network events, etc. and use traditional and nontraditional resources to identify and attract quality candidates, ultimately building a pipeline of talent for the organization.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand division hiring needs and specific skills requirements for open positions. Complete initial screening of candidates and coordinate technical and on-site interviews, including providing behavioral interview guides to interview panel. Ensure that staffing decisions are made fairly and objectively compliant with EEO and AAP. Extend job offers as directed by human resources manager.
  • Complete administrative duties to support recruiting and staffing efforts to include job posting, behavioral based interview guides, drafting offer letters, coordinate pre-employment background checks, scheduling drug screens and physicals, creating adverse action letters, scheduling, travel coordination, complete HRIS and ATS data entry and conducting new hire orientation. Assess recruiting processes and develop strategies to streamline and drive efficiency and attraction efforts. Track staffing metrics and provide insight for continuous improvement.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum 4 years of recruiting or sourcing experience in manufacturing, mining or similar industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong customer focus, interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work independently.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office, HRIS, LMS, and ATS.
  • Strong knowledge and application of laws related to human resources, including but not limited to ADA, ADEA, EPA, Title VII, FLSA, INA, FMLA, ACA, ERISA, USERRA, COBRA, and HIPAA.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills yielding results with prioritization and efficiency.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Office; moderate noise; fast paced on regular basis.
  • Regularly sits for extended periods of time.
  • Rarely lift up to 40 lbs.
