SUMMERY:
Maintain the electrical infrastructure in a safe, efficient, and reliable operating condition within the confines of the federal, state, and local codes. This is accomplished by consistent testing, repairing, adjusting, adding to and deleting from the electrical system, old and new respectively.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design and schedule documentation for preventative maintenance testing for all electrical equipment within the confines of federal, state, local, and TJC codes.
Maintain, test, and repair the entire normal, emergency, and U.P.S. power distribution systems within the facility including working with voltages from 90 to 5000 vac and 5 to 200 vdc.
Possess a clear knowledge and understanding of all electrical distribution systems within each building.
Must be well versed in electrical code including those dealing with arc flash protection clothing and calculations.
Must be able to use the information and tables within NFPA 70E for electrical safety in the work place.Design, size, and install transformers, switches, motors, motor controls, capacitor banks, etc. into the electrical systems.
Test and troubleshoot automatic transfer switches. Maintain, test, and repair vacuum breakers.
Install and repair metering systems.
Read and understand schematics and blueprints.
Troubleshoot, install, and repair variable speed drives.
Troubleshoot and replace breakers and fuses.
Proficient with multimeters, meggers, power quality, and all other test equipment.
Analyze data from test equipment.
Ability to test and repair all distribution circuits and all motor control circuits.
Install and troubleshoot lighting control devices.
Install receptacles, switches, lamps, ballasts, sockets, branch device circuitry, and conduit systems.
Perform basic mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC troubleshooting and repairs as well as other tasks needed to maintain the facility.
Assist on jobs with other facilities staff as needed.
Complete hot work permits and follow lock out tag out procedures.
Snow removal.
Other duties may be assigned.
