Non – Destructive Testing Level lll – Group Leader (Finance)
Responsibility for the overall administration of the NDT personnel qualification and certification program. Capable of providing or directing training, examination and certification of personnel. Capable, when required by the written practice, of auditing outside agencies to ensure the requirements of the written practice are met.
NDT operations for which he/she is certified to and to which he/she is appointed as the responsible NDT Level III.
Interpreting and evaluating test results in terms of existing codes, standards, and specifications and resolving problems encountered during performance or interpretation of test results. Act as the company's ultimate technical authority regarding the acceptance or rejection of items based on NDT findings when evaluated in accordance with their interpretation of existing codes, standards, and specifications. Shall be capable of assuming technical responsibility for the NDT facility and staff. Shall be capable of preparing and verifying the adequacy of procedures and work instructions.
Determining and approving the particular test methods, techniques, and procedures to be used to examine specific items when none are specified.
Providing specialized test procedures and training in the use of NDT procedures whenever required.
Shall be certified to the applicable customer specifications when required by the customer.
As an NDT Instructor/Examiner, they are responsible for training and examining NDT Level I, II, and III personnel for certification.
They shall be responsible for writing, establishing, and presenting a training course curriculum, which imparts the necessary knowledge in the appropriate NDT method, in accordance with the requirements of the ASNT SNT-TC-1A, NAS-410, and to the satisfaction of the company.
They shall be responsible for the design, implementation, and grading of the certification testing scheme for the NDT personnel.
They shall be responsible to approve NDT test systems and/or changes to existing systems prior to implementation.
They are responsible to work with the cognizant engineering organization with regard to the design or tooling related to the manufacture, NDT inspection, or repair of product.
They shall work in concert with cognizant engineering, product design, and tooling entities and is responsible to review and approve engineering drawings and blueprints to ensure NDT requirements are met.
They are responsible, concurrent with the approval of the QA Manager, for the appointment of the designated company NDT Auditor, NDT Instructor, NDT Examiner, or the use of an outside agency to perform NDT or related tasks for the company.
They are responsible to review the qualifications and capabilities of the prospective candidates and agencies and shall be the final approval authority.
Sufficient practical background in applicable materials, fabrication, and product technology to establish standards, specifications, techniques, and procedures and to assist in interpreting and evaluating test results and/or establishing acceptance criteria where none are otherwise available. If specified in the written practice, shall have a basic knowledge of aircraft and vehicle maintenance.
General familiarity with other related NDT methods and will be qualified to train and examine NDT Level I, II, and III personnel for certification.
Minimum four-year college or university curriculum with a degree in engineering or science plus one-year experience in NDT in an assignment comparable to that of an NDT Level II in the applicable test method(s).

Have completed with passing grades at least two years of engineering or science study at a university, college, or technical school plus two years experience in assignments at least comparable to that of NDT Level II in the applicable test method(s), or:

Have (4) four years experience in an assignment at least comparable to that of an NDT Level II in the applicable testing method(s) and a high school diploma or equivalent.
