Office 365 Engineer (Finance)
The Office 365 Engineer must have a combination of excellent technical skills and an understanding of technology's intersection with business. They will evaluate Guardian's messaging systems and how they align with user needs. The individual will be responsible for engineering projects for all new services and major changes to the messaging portfolio. The individual will be self-driven and rely on professional discretion to achieve goals. Significant ingenuity and flexibility will be expected. They will leverage their broad understanding of the portfolio of Guardian software and services assets as well as an understanding of the Guardian culture and business to develop solutions. The individual in this role should also have a general and up to date knowledge of industry trends and alternative products beyond the tool set in use at Guardian. Critical to the success of this position is an interest in and understanding of the enterprise messaging landscape to continue to drive innovation at Guardian in this space.
Responsibilities
• Technical owner of at least one of Office 365 or other SaaS (ProofPoint, etc.) on-premise offerings with an emphasis on supplier management, SLA compliance, and operational excellence.
• Execute key projects to advance messaging capabilities and services such as Exchange Online, Skype for Business Online, Teams, Intune, Proofpoint TAP, and Condeco.
• Improving the performance of Skype for Business service to the highest level of voice and meeting quality achievable.
• Coordination of the annual Disaster Recovery test with the supplier.
• Provide technical expertise around the Office 365 messaging and collaboration offerings, including process, standards, and best practices for the platform.
• Partnering with vendors, IT Security and compliance to ensure data protection and data loss prevention strategies for messaging.
• Follow ITIL processes such as incident, change, problem and request.
Reporting Relationships
The IT Service Experience Senior Engineer reports to the Manager of Messaging Engineering who reports to the Director, Workplace Service Delivery. Qualifications
• 5 years of related experience.
• Strong proficiency with messaging technologies, particularly in Office 365, Exchange Online, Skype for Business Online, Intune, Proofpoint TAP, and Condeco. Working knowledge of Active Directory, Azure AD, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Yammer and Polycom audio/video is a plus.
• Experience migrating Office 365 tenants.
• Experience using PowerShell cmdlets and writing scripts to automate common tasks.
• Significant experience executing technical projects with resources across teams.
• Problem-solving and analytical abilities including the ability to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details and apply sound business knowledge to issue resolution.
• Expertise in documenting requirements, establishing scope and objectives and determining the strategy for implementing systems to achieve business goals.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work independently, as well as work collaboratively with teams, some of which may be geographically distributed.
• Experience using an Agile (SAFe) methodology is desired.
Education:
A Bachelor's degree in a technology field is required.
